We have fixed the die-cutter problem. All strips should now measure 2". Thank you for your patience and understanding while we fixed the problem.

The BOM pictures and page numbers for each month are on the "Our Class" page under 'Flowers in a Cabin'.

These instructions for our Log Cabin Block are meant to go along with the Pattern you have already received at our store. There are many 'helps' on the INTERNET for Traditional Log Cabin Blocks.

Step 1: Take one tone on tone strip and one floral strip(this one will be the lightest floral you have) and sew them together with right sides together.

Cut the sewn together strips into 2" segments. You will have 7 segments total when finished, you will only need 6 for this month. Just save the seventh one for next month.

Press seams towards the seam you have just sewn.

Step 2: Take a floral strip and chain piece the ironed 2" segments onto it. Keeping the light floral of the original segment on the bottom(towards your tummy). Cut apart new segments and press the seams towards the last strip(log) you have just sewn, which is the floral.

Step 3: Now take a tone on tone strip and sew the segments onto it, always keeping the last strip you have sewn on towards your tummy. This way you won't sew on your strips backwards. You will not always get all the segments on one strip as the block gets larger. You need to keep all the extra fabric that is 2" and over to use in the months to come.

Cut segmemts apart and press seams towards the strip you have just sewn on.

Step 4: Using another tone on tone strip, chain piece the next segements.

Cut the new segements apart and iron to the tone on tone you just put on.

Step 5: The next strip will be a floral. Continue the same steps as before. HINT-After the center block(tone on tone)you will be sewing on 2 floral strips then two tone on tone strips and then back to floral, etc...

Step 6-12: Just keep repeating the steps as before. Putting two floral strips onto your segments then two tone on tone strips. Contine this until your block has 3 tone on tone strips on two sides(not including the center of the block) and 4 florals on two sides.

This is what it will look like when you are done with your tone on tones. At this point you have two more floral strips to add.

This is the completed block. Remember to trim up your edges as you go and to keep the last strip you have sewn on toward your tummy.
